i just got turned on to one of the best tv shows i have ever seen. this masterpiece is called "The Mighty Boosh." it's a british show that lasted three season on the BBC, and i believe the "adult swim" has recently been airing some of the episodes. i can honestly say that i have never seen a show like this. its it amazing. if you find it on tv, online, the dvds, or however,... watch it!!! you will laugh so hard, once you get past how crazy it really is. watch old greg...

sure soccer can get a little rough between players every now and then, but this new mexico soccer player takes it a bit far. this girl, who's name i could care less about, is one dirty bitch and one piss poor sport. through out the game she continued to take cheap shots after cheap shots at the other team. how in the world, the refs never saw any of this is beyond me. she is going to be punished by the ncaa, but this bitch need to get the boot out of soccer forever. watch this and be amazed...

so yesterday, the new weezer album "raditude" came out in stores. i'm not gonna review the album, just the album cover. the first time i saw this, i thought it was a joke or not even the actual cover. i get the humor part of it, if that was even intended, but seriously? this is by far the worst album cover i've seen so far this year. again, i'm not reviewing the music itself. i haven't yet heard anything off "raditude" yet but i intend to give it a try because hey, its still weezer. i just laugh to myself every time i look at the cover, and i don't know if thats a good thing or bad thing. i really want to look at the inside artwork and see if it's just as bad. sorry weezer, hope the record is better than the cover.

last night i got to be apart of a killer listening party. the band, "The Flaming Lips". the album, "Embryonic." this new album is so good! i don't know if your a big Flaming Lips fan or not, but this album has something for everyone. it has its mellow and grove moments, as well has loud, noisy elements that sound like older jams. all in all, it is amazing and you should do yourselves a favor and go out and get your hands on it!!! you won't be disappointed.

so yesterday, i found an old album that i haven't listen to in years. Slick Shoes' "Rusty" came out in 1997 and i remember getting into this band and album in seventh grade. a so-cal pop punk band that has put out a few albums since, and is still around today. jamming out on it brought back so many memories and the biggest smile on my face. watch this music video for a song called "joe's sick." the video is so cheesy but i love it and always have since '97...

birdman

birdman is a game i pick up while on the "pave the forrest tour" this past summer. the game it's self has been going on for god knows how long. it is game where once to decide to become a member and play the game, you play it for life! there are no exceptions, although i heard to get out of it you have to eat a can of wet cat food. here's how to play; the object of the game is to try and "birdman" other players. to "birdman" someone, you simply flash the sign, just like shown above, and if another player looks directly at you, that player must lay down on the ground. they must lay down wherever they are. that means in a liquor store, in a public bathroom, your mom's house, or wherever you just got "birdmaned." you can however, block the sign. to do this, you hold the "a-okay hand gesture,"(the one where you touch thumb and first finger to make a circle and then hold up the last three fingers directly up) over your eye. you must be doing the block as you look back at the person "birdmaning" you. this game has ruined t-shirts of mine as well as good times, but i will never go back on "birdman." i found it on wikipedia with some other people's ways of playing as well as other rules. these fools play to only sit not lay down... amateurs

best movie!!

"Black Sheep," and no it's not the Chris Farley movie. This movie is from New Zealand and came out a couple of years ago. I saw it recently and instantly fell in love with it. It mixes horror and comedy like no other movie. It's so ridiculous that it is amazing. You have to find this movie at your local blockbuster, get it on netflix, or find it online somewhere. my new favorite band

i randomly just stumbled on this one man band called "soft circle." holy shit is this amazing!!! this guys mixes electronic, dance, tropical, and so many other things in a style i've never heard before. and this dude does it all alone both recording and live! i think he recently added another guy, but all the live footage i've seen is just him jamming so hard! you've got to watch this video. he goes from doing samples/programs to guitar to rocking out on the drums! check out more of soft circle at their myspace page. i'm gonna be jamming this stuff so hard for a while i can already tell. check it out and pass it on!!!

back at home sweet home

well we just got back into town early this morning, after a long day of driving from chicago to denver. the tour is over now and already i'm missing it. gonna miss all the amazing bands we had the chance to tour with. be sure to check out "this time next year," "memphis may fire," "of machines," and of course the almighty "fear before." all the bands are made up of some of the coolest dudes! we all had so much fun together this past month and everyone is going to be missed. it was such a great experience getting to go coast to coast with bands and meeting so many new people! thanks to everyone who bought DICK CHASEY merch at the shows and to everyone who has been visiting the website and on-line store. keep spreading the love to everyone! i'm home now with lots of new ideas for DICK CHASEY so keep checking back. i'm gonna try to post tons of pics from the tour so check back for those in a day or so...

one week left of tour

hey kids, it's me dick again with another installment of DICK CHASEY on the road. today we are in new hampshire. yesterday, we were in new york for one of the worst days. we drove through manhattan late at night, and for those who have never been there, don't drive!!!! i now know why the people who live in the city don't have cars. there's no parking, people drive like complete assholes, and it just sucks. we got our van and trailer towed in brooklyn yesterday morning. me and mike had to jump on the subway, walk like 10 blocks, and wait so long to get everything squared away. then, after the show got a hotel and saw too much male nudity ,way too much. we will be making our way through the mid west these last few shows. thanks againg to everyone for coming out to the shows and an extra special thanks to all who have been buying DICK CHASEY shirts! this tour has been so fun and i'm going to be so sad when its over! DICK CHASEY has made so many new friends all over the country. when i get home, there will be so many good things to come in the near future!

kicking it in the ATL

we are no longer in the state of texas! that makes me so happy! but, we did go to the coolest place in that state... no not austin, a little hole in the wall bar in tyler, texas call the red rose. the most amazing people worked there. the owner bought all of us a round of drinks and the bartender did the same after hours... yesterday, we were in alabama and hit up this small brewery for a thing call the "power hour." 75 cent pints for one hour straight! had to drink as many beers as possible in 60 minutes. by the end of the hour, our table ordered over 40 beers! the people in alabama really showed us what southern hospitality meant. today we are in atlanta for what should be a good time. today i bought a 40 oz. of miller high life. i've never even seen a 40 oz. of high life before. the shows have been weird, the van rides even weirder, and the kids love it. i'll be back with a new post asap... keep checking back!

texas pride... is retarded

well hello hello again from the road! since the last post so much as happened. in arizona, we had to deal with some of the hottest weather i've ever been in. got into tempe around 9 am and it was already over 100 degrees! got in a friend's pool with water that was 90 degrees! by mid day it turned out to be 114 degrees! so fuckin hot! i've never sweated so much in the shade in my life. after that we had a 1000 mile drive to oklahoma city where we met up with some old friends for some good times. after that, we made our way to texas where we have been the last couple days and have two more days in this shit-hole of a state. went to the alamo where we flexed in front of to take some sweet pictures. oh and by the way, the alamo sucks so bad.... its so lame. almost as lame as texas pride! we'll see what happens these last couple of days here. hopefully lots more lone star beer!

hello from the road..

hey guys! i know its been a little while since the last post. haven't had internet for some days now, but i'm back. so much has happened since the last post too... had an awesome show in seattle, after going to a sweet ass brewery with the most amazing prices, food, and beer! we were all in heaven. went camping twice in california, once in northern cali in the woods and then, just outside of san diego. ate tons of hot dogs drank lots of beer and swam in the ocean. we had so much fun. today we are in arizona and its only 112 degrees... no big deal, and oh yeah, we have no a.c. in the van either... touring rules! we are having so much fun and with only one week down, i know the other three weeks are gonna be so much fun! i'll be back with another post asap, with more good stories from the road and some pics to let you in on the fun!

hello west coast!

we have gotten 3 shows out of the way now, and most of the brutal driving as well. had to drive from salt lake to clarkston wa., drive took about 13 hours! the past couple days have been full of the van life and the new bruno movie, which is the best thing my eyes have seen in a while. today are in seattle for what is sure to be a day full of good food, excellent beer, and an awesome show tonight. after that we make our way down the coast line in the beautiful cali sun! can't wait! so far the tour has been awesome with kids coming out and showing support for the bands they love, so thanks to all you kids for that! hope to see more of you guys soon.

last night's boulder show was a good one. thanks to everyone who came out to see all the bands. i can already tell this tour is going to be so much fun. the other bands are full of cool dudes and good tunes. today we are in salt lake and ready to rock out. but first, we are on a mission to find a certain bar that pours their beers in muscle glasses... let you know how that turns out.

so i saw a pretty sweet show last night in denver. it was "kay kay and his weathered underground," "the dear hunter," and "mewithoutYou." gotta say all bands were really awesome to watch and sounded so good. it ended up to be a sold out show which made it even more great because everyone was very into all the bands and giving all of them such good feed back. i went mostly to see kay kay and his weathered underground, not sure if many of you have heard them, but they are a band that is truly doing something special in the music biz right now. you have to check out this performance they did back a couple of years ago. click here to be amazed...

so last night was the first show of "the tonight show with conan o'brien" and for those who missed it, it was one of the best hosting jobs conan has ever done.  at first when he came out on his new set, which is amazing, it was weird not seeing the usual late night set and seemed like he was hosting the academy awards again.  will ferrell was the first guest and boy did he enter in style...i can already tell conan is going to make a lasting impression as the new tonight show host.

check it out!!!! a short clip from the other night at the dan deacon show...which turned out to be one of the best shows i've ever seen. dan played alongside a full band of about 15 people playing all sorts of instruments. i even saw one dude using the wii remote! i think he was controlling the crazy video footage being projected on the backdrop. all in all i can honestly say i have never been to nor seen a live show like that. if you get a chance to see dan deacon live...DO IT!!! footage was shot by uncle dick, sorry its not the best quality, i had a few beers at the show.

salt and pepper shakers built right into your fork and spoon, engineering and design at its best.  i know when i eat squiggly lines in a bowl, i need to have something to spice it up.   these would truly be amazing if you could put sriracha in them... most certainly the best invention that caught our eyes today...see ya one wheeled motorcycle.

dan deacon plays bluebird tonight!

hey kiddos...thursday night, got nothing to do? head to the bluebird in denver tonight for what is sure to be one of the best shows of the year! dan deacon will be playing alongside a full band! you do not want to miss this show, trust me. check out dan's myspace to hears some tunes and see some trippy music videos. i'm gonna try to take some pictures at the show tonight so check back tomorrow for the scoop!

zach hill+the beach=one rad commercial

just found this lost vans commercial featuring zach hill from a few years ago that went unaired. why it went unaired is beyond us...cool shoes and rad drummers on the beach is what dreams are made of. if you don't know who zach hill is, you either live under a rock or your favorite band is nickelback. do yourself a favor and check out this mad man and all the different bands this guy kills it for. he is one of our favorite drummers/musicians/artists/progressive thinkers that is out there today. i can promise you, you have never heard or seen the drums played the way this guy does it!

dylan martorell is the artist of the day. he is an australian artists who does some of the most amazing line drawings you'll see. we discovered dylan in a previous issue of vice magazine and were blown away by his line work. you can (and should) check out more of his stuff  here. support the arts!!!

a band you need to know about

today's band of the day, alamaailman vasarat, has been playing on all of my music devices for the past few days now. i recently discovered them and cannot stop listening! please do yourself a favor and check them out asap. they have such a unique sound and use a wide variety of brass and string instruments. they come to you all the way from finland! enjoy!!
