my new favorite band

i randomly just stumbled on this one man band called "soft circle." holy shit is this amazing!!! this guys mixes electronic, dance, tropical, and so many other things in a style i've never heard before. and this dude does it all alone both recording and live! i think he recently added another guy, but all the live footage i've seen is just him jamming so hard! you've got to watch this video. he goes from doing samples/programs to guitar to rocking out on the drums! check out more of soft circle at their myspace page. i'm gonna be jamming this stuff so hard for a while i can already tell. check it out and pass it on!!!

artist of the day

nicholas di genova is the artist of the day. i was introduced to his work by a friend a couple of weeks ago and cannot get his work off my mind. i really enjoy his work and how he integrates animals into other animals and random objects, and just plain weird stuff. check out his website to see so much more of his work and buy some of his stuff such as shirts, posters, art, and other stuff. you're gonna love this guys artistic style. so amazing!

if you still haven't heard of PORTUGAL. THE MAN by now, even after last year's stunning "Censored Colors," you have some catching up to do. last month they released their newest album "The Satanic Satanist." This album is one everyone must go out and pick up asap! The entire album is very listener friendly and is something fresh from everything else, that anyone can easily enjoy it. if you get a chance to see them live, they are currently on tour near you, do yourself the pleasure of seeing a remarkable live show. you should really purchase this album because the layout and artwork will blow your mind! also check out more of portugal the man at their website.

back at home sweet home

well we just got back into town early this morning, after a long day of driving from chicago to denver. the tour is over now and already i'm missing it. gonna miss all the amazing bands we had the chance to tour with. be sure to check out "this time next year," "memphis may fire," "of machines," and of course the almighty "fear before." all the bands are made up of some of the coolest dudes! we all had so much fun together this past month and everyone is going to be missed. it was such a great experience getting to go coast to coast with bands and meeting so many new people! thanks to everyone who bought DICK CHASEY merch at the shows and to everyone who has been visiting the website and on-line store. keep spreading the love to everyone! i'm home now with lots of new ideas for DICK CHASEY so keep checking back. i'm gonna try to post tons of pics from the tour so check back for those in a day or so...
