cool bands

so i saw a pretty sweet show last night in denver. it was "kay kay and his weathered underground," "the dear hunter," and "mewithoutYou." gotta say all bands were really awesome to watch and sounded so good. it ended up to be a sold out show which made it even more great because everyone was very into all the bands and giving all of them such good feed back. i went mostly to see kay kay and his weathered underground, not sure if many of you have heard them, but they are a band that is truly doing something special in the music biz right now. you have to check out this performance they did back a couple of years ago. click here to be amazed...

triumph the insult comic dog

last week on "the tonight show with conan o'brien," they showed some footage of triumph at this year's bonnaroo music and arts festival. you HAVE to watch this clip. it is soooo funny. he rips on everyone from phish fans (not too hard to do), to the decemberists, to everyone in between. i love this dog! check out the video here.

the dead weather on conan

hey guys for those of you who missed conan last thursday night, his musical guest was the dead weather. its jack white's new side project he drums for.  the singer is also the singer for the kills.  i thought the performance was pretty cool. the upcoming album is set to release next month and it's gonna be pretty stellar.  check out the video and their website.

hey kids, got nothing to do this evening? well everyone who listens to good music should head on down to 3 kings tavern in denver to catch RADIO MOSCOW. if you've never heard of them check out some track here...you will for sure like what you hear. its gonna be a great show with great friends and more than likely some great beer too!

i know the last couple post have been for videos, so i decided why stop now? for those who have been living under a rock for the past six months and don't know who animal collective are, or haven't heard their latest album "merriweather post pavilion," i think the time is now to get educated. this album is still my top album of the year so far and can guarantee it will still be at the end of the year. they just released the new video for the song "summertime clothes" and it is crazy. take a look for yourself...

if you've never seen this video, do yourself the favor of watching something truly amazing! the artist goes by "blu" and does some of the most amazing wall paintings on the sides of buildings that i've ever seen. the video is a short film he did a couple years ago. check out the video and also check out his website to see so much more of this dude's amazing art!

major lazer "hold the line." one of the coolest music videos i've seen in a while. reminds me of the old school g.i. joe or ninja turtles animation. brought me back to the good ol' days watching saturday morning cartoons.  i absolutely love this video as well as the track too.  check out their profile page too for some other sweet treats....

this past weekend i had the chance to see jo koy at comedy works in denver.  i had never been to a comedy show before, and am so glad jo koy was my first.  if you've never heard of this guy or have never seen his stand up before, you are really missing out!  if you ever heard the phrase "my ting ting!" then you have heard of jo koy. check out this short clip and get ready to laugh your ass off.

so last night was the first show of "the tonight show with conan o'brien" and for those who missed it, it was one of the best hosting jobs conan has ever done.  at first when he came out on his new set, which is amazing, it was weird not seeing the usual late night set and seemed like he was hosting the academy awards again.  will ferrell was the first guest and boy did he enter in style...i can already tell conan is going to make a lasting impression as the new tonight show host.
